The aircraft was making a PPI approach without glide path information. Weather conditions were poor in heavy snow showers.
The aircraft hit the ground at a very flat angle about 1 NM short of the airfield, directly on centerline. Neither pilot attempted to eject.
The engine was running at a high RPM at impact and altimeters were set correctly.
