crashed with 417 ST/R (OTS) Squadron May 18, 1983, aircraft impacted ground during an air to air firing (dart) mission, the pilot did not eject and was killed, struck off service May 2, 1984.

Next FWIC event for me was in 1983, when I was flying with S.R.(# 744) a dart mission. On our first attack on the dart with me a mile in trail he never rolled out of the turn into the dart,
the nose of the a/c came easily down, and he went from 15.000' with full burner and finally about 60 to 70 degrees (my guess that time) into the ground.
He wouldn't respond to any radio call, and they suspected a broken blood vessel in his brain.
