CF-104 "828" (12828) of 3 Wing at CFB Sollingen in August 1967 CF-104, Canadair model CL-90, Lockheed model 683-04-12, Canadair construction number 683A-1128, RCAF serial number 12828, built by Canadairfirst flight August 22, 1962; after 15 flights with 25 flight hours delivered on March 12, 1963 to 1 Air Division 12828 made an emergency landing at Ramstein with 422 squadron of 4 Wing and was damaged on January 15, 1964; in 1966 to 421 squadron at Sollingen August 1967 exchange was held between the RCAF 421 and 422 Squadron and the F-4C equipped 91 TFS/81 TFW of the USAFE based at RAF Bentwaters in 1969 with 422 squadron; crashed with 4 Wing on April 14, 1970 near Landau after midair collision with 718 in clouds on instrument approach, the pilot ejected safely. copyright @ Arnold Booy
