F-104N NASA "011" over Edwards AFB in the mid 60's

F-104N, construction number 683C-4045, model 683-10-19, built by Lockheed, registered N811NA
delivered to NASA Flight Research Center (FRC) at Dryden on August 19, 1963, flown by Joe Walker
mainly used for high speed chase flights, coded NASA 011
in 1970 it received its new code N811NA and was sprayed in the new colors (after being bare metal before)
it flew lots of missions for NASA from Edwards AFB
it made its last flight on October 23, 1987 by Bill Dana after a total of 4.370 flights
and it was put in storage at Edwards AFB
in December 1989 the NASA had canceled the registration and the aircraft was withdrawn from use
however it was seen stored at Edwards (cocooned) for several years at least until October 1992
in 1997 it was seen for the first time being preserved at Prescott, Arizona at the Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University; March 2024 noted.
